RECOGNITION & MILESTONES
The milestones that helped shape the mission of WhaleX Arts Foundation.
Before WhaleX Arts Foundation was established, a series of artistic and community milestones helped shape the vision that would eventually become its mission.
In 2025, Where Are You, Amelia?, an original song created by father and daughter team Bo Yu and Michelle Yu, was accepted into the permanent collection of the Amelia Earhart Birthplace Museum. Inspired by Amelia Earhart’s spirit of courage and exploration, the work connected aviation history, music, and a new generation through art.
The achievement was later recognized by the City of Huntington Beach and the California State Senate, honoring the work and its role in carrying Amelia Earhart’s legacy forward through contemporary artistic expression.

In 2026, Michelle Yu received a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition from U.S. Representative Dave Min for her outstanding and invaluable contribution to the community.
Together, these experiences helped inspire the values at the heart of WhaleX Arts Foundation using art to preserve meaningful stories, connecting creativity with aviation and exploration, and creating opportunities for the next generation to discover what is possible.
