LOOKING AHEAD
Building the next chapter of exploration in Huntington Beach.
WhaleX Arts Foundation was founded in Huntington Beach, a city known around the world as Surf City USA. But its identity reaches beyond the ocean. For decades, aerospace has played an important role in the city’s history and economy. Today, the annual Pacific Airshow brings aviation to the shoreline, connecting the community with aircraft, pilots, technology, and the excitement of flight.
For WhaleX Arts Foundation, this connection between ocean and sky makes Huntington Beach a natural place to begin. Inspired by Amelia Earhart and the aviation community around her, Michelle began to imagine how that same spirit of courage and exploration could create new possibilities for young women in her own community.
Looking ahead, WhaleX Arts Foundation envisions an Amelia Earhart Exploration Museum in Huntington Beach — a welcoming public space where aviation history, art, education, and exploration come together, with a special commitment to inspiring young women to discover new possibilities in aviation and beyond.
As the Foundation grows, we hope to expand this vision into a larger aviation and aerospace exploration museum, featuring flight and space simulation, interactive exhibits, STEM learning, aviation and space history, career exploration, and opportunities to connect with pilots, engineers, scientists, astronauts, and the broader aerospace community.
Our vision is not simply to preserve the past, but to create a place where the spirit of exploration can inspire what comes next.
AMELIA EARHART EXPLORATION MUSEUM
IN DEVELOPMENT — HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA
WhaleX Arts Foundation is developing the Amelia Earhart Exploration Museum as a nonprofit educational space dedicated to aviation history, youth education, and the spirit of exploration.
The museum is envisioned as a place where young people can discover aviation through interactive exhibits and flight simulation, while encouraging more young women to explore opportunities in aviation and aerospace.
We are currently evaluating potential locations in Huntington Beach, including a space at Old World Village. The final location has not yet been confirmed.
