APPLY FOR SUPPORT

FAA medical exam and flight training support for young women pursuing aviation.

WhaleX Arts Foundation supports young women who are beginning or advancing their flight training. Eligible Young Aviator Members may apply for FAA medical exam support or flight training support. Membership establishes eligibility to apply but does not guarantee selection or financial assistance.

FAA MEDICAL EXAM SUPPORT

Eligible Young Aviator Members who are preparing to begin flight training may apply for up to $300 in financial support toward the cost of their first FAA medical exam performed by an Aviation Medical Examiner (AME) authorized by the Federal Aviation Administration.

Applicants must demonstrate a genuine intention to begin flight training, such as completing a discovery flight, enrolling with a flight school, or providing confirmation from a flight instructor.

Applicants must receive written approval by email from WhaleX Arts Foundation before completing the examination. The approval email will state the maximum approved amount, up to $300.

Whenever possible, WhaleX Arts Foundation will pay the approved amount directly to the Aviation Medical Examiner. If direct payment is not available, the approved applicant may pay the examination fee and submit an official receipt for reimbursement. Any cost above the approved amount is the applicant’s responsibility.

Only the standard fee for the FAA medical examination is eligible. Additional testing, specialist evaluations, treatment, and expenses related to Special Issuance are not covered. Financial support does not guarantee that an applicant will receive an FAA medical certificate.

FLIGHT TRAINING SUPPORT

Young Aviator Members who have completed at least six logged hours of flight training may apply for a flight training award ranging from $1,000 to $3,000 toward future eligible expenses, including aircraft rental and Certified Flight Instructor fees.

Applicants must provide copies of the relevant logbook entries, confirmation from a flight instructor or flight school, and an invoice, account statement, or other documentation showing the expected training expenses.

The amount of each award will be determined by WhaleX Arts Foundation following a review of the applicant’s eligibility, application materials, documented aviation progress, proposed training expenses, and available funding.

Whenever possible, approved funding will be paid directly to the flight school or training provider. If direct payment is not available, an approved applicant may submit official receipts for reimbursement. Only expenses incurred after written approval from WhaleX Arts Foundation are eligible.

Each selected applicant may receive no more than one flight training award during a calendar year. Applicants who are not selected may apply again during a future application cycle if they continue to meet the eligibility requirements.

The number of awards made during each application cycle will be determined by WhaleX Arts Foundation based on available funding.

MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENT

Applicants must be active Young Aviator Members when they submit their applications. Membership is currently $3 per month, renews automatically each month until canceled, and may be canceled at any time.

Once a complete application has been accepted for review, a later membership cancellation will not affect the review of that application. Membership does not guarantee selection or financial support. The length of an applicant’s membership and the total amount of membership fees paid are not considered in the selection process or in determining an award amount.

Applicants under 18 must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian. A parent or legal guardian may also be required to sign application, payment, reimbursement, or award documents.
